Pretoro is a characteristic medieval village, perched on a hill on the slopes of the Mother Mountain. Also known as the “land of the fusari”, it is famous for the production of ceramics, for the processing of white stone and wood, in particular for the creation of spindles for the processing of wool and the traditional Abruzzese guitars for pasta. During the summer, when the paths are free from the grip of frost, walking or riding a bike, immersed in the nature of the Valle del Foro Reserve, offers extraordinary suggestions.
Rapino is a town of incredible beauty, certainly one of the most characteristic villages at the foot of the Maiella. Its position is unique, wedged between sea and mountains, no more than thirty kilometers from the Trabocchi coast. Climbing from the slopes of the mountain to high altitude through the natural passage offered by the Acquafredda Valley, you find yourself immersed in a wild and luxuriant nature, an immense green expanse where wide forests of pine, fir and beech alternate, courses water with an adamantine clarity, and a particularly varied and numerous wildlife.
Returning to the center of the village, one is particularly struck by visiting the Ceramics Museum where about 180 works that are the heritage of the Municipality are exhibited.

TOUR DETAILS
DAY 1
It begins with an easy excursion along mainly flat paths in the Majella National Park, meeting ancient residences and rock mills of great historical value. Afterwards, we will leave for a journey into the artisan traditions to experience all the charm of the shops of the past, admire and discover the secrets of the precious crafts by interacting directly with the master craftsmen.
Packed lunch with a picnic basket containing the best local food and wine proposals.
In the afternoon, we will leave for the village of Pretoro and the San Domenico Museum and then continue to the wildlife area of the Apennine wolf for a very close sighting of the famous predator.
Dinner at a typical restaurant, return and overnight stay at the structure.
DAY 2
After breakfast, the morning will be entirely dedicated to the sublime art of pastry-making with a workshop at “La Torta del Lupo” in Pretoro.
We will continue with a pleasant walk that will lead inside a natural cave with unique suggestions.
After the packed lunch with tasting of Abruzzo delicacies, we will leave for the village of Rapino to discover its famous Museum of Ceramics.
Afterwards, a prestigious local farm will open its doors to reveal the secrets of the master cheesemakers during an interesting tasting of the best local products.
The day will end in Pretoro with dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 3
After breakfast, you can choose between a double option: take part in a relaxing e-bike excursion along the paths of the Acquafredda Valley or experience a few hours of fun with the attractions of the Adventure Park in the heart of the Majella.

In the afternoon you will reach the beautiful historic center of Guardiagrele for a pleasant and suggestive walk, during which you can taste the typical dessert par excellence, the famous “Sise delle Monache”.
